This painting is entitled "Concealed Forest"
I am always on the lookout for new ideas through the lense of my camera, or by paging through my large collection of art, interior design books and magazines for inspiration. I actually started my professional art career painting murals in homes in the Chicagoland suburbs. After that I started exhibiting in gallery art shows and online. I have researched and practiced impressionism painting extensively, and it is my signature style. An idea for a new painting can happen from something that I've seen in nature or just a pattern or color can inspire me. When I have some free time, I enjoy walking through interior design stores and looking at all of the designs, patterns and styles. I have several favorite stores that I visit often.
My husband and I also like to walk through the forest preserves or botanical gardens whenever we can and take photos while we are there. I took several art classes in school, in painting, design crafts and interior design, and an art college graduate friend was kind enough to tutor me in oil painting. I have painted on surfaces including floors, walls, furniture, lamps, clay pots, wooden picture frames, mirror frames, fabric and pottery. One time I even painted our couch. It was a cream colored canvas type of fabric with a stain on one of the arms. So one day I just painted a red flower pattern all over it. My husband and sons poked fun at me for months about it, but I didn't care because I was just having so much fun experimenting with paint. Faith in God, encouragement from family and friends, as well as a passionate pursuit, have brought me to the place that I am at today.
